Educational/Professional Background

Arlene Grant-Brown has over 40 years' child welfare experience via private agencies and DCFS. This includes direct service to intact families, child protection, permanency, and administrative positions. Arlene also worked full time on the SACWIS project from development through implementation. She worked on new policy development and updates to existing policies; chaired workgroups, produced training modules, delivered training and supervised staff. Arlene was special assistant to several deputies, developing work process memoranda, and assigned liaison with the OIG to assess and manage implementation of their review recommendations. Arlene has 35 years’ experience with DCFS and holds a master’s degree from the University of Chicago, School of Social Service Administration.
